Every Day Brings New Promise

Today my pastor started a new series called, “Who is God?” While most of it wasn’t really new information, as I was leaving the parking lot I saw this on a bumper sticker and that sort of drove it home for me. My Yahweh is so much greater, bigger, and awesome than me.

There is this amazing, encouraging, funny blog that a friend introduced me to a while ago, and yesterday, John Emery, the author of www.jesuslovesdesign.com, wrote this inspiring post. So, this is in part dedicated to him and his walk.

The other part, the larger part, is dedicated to my Yahweh, who is the reason I can and did design this. This is for Him.

The Rock hosted a new worship leader this morning, a guy by the name of Evan Wickham. His music wasn’t to my taste, but you could just tell how much this guy has humbled himself before God and how genuine his worship was. It didn’t feel stale or stagnant or routine.
Anyway, the quote is something he said during a pause between songs, and it just really resonated with life for me. It may be kind a ‘duh’ for others, but for me? It resonated.

Lately I’ve been feeling lazy with my designs, so this is the first of (hopefully) daily pieces honoring my Yahweh who gave me the talent to design in the first place.

Without knowing about me starting this blog, my mister asked for an urban/graffiti type piece featuring Mark 11:24. I have no particular skill or even talent for that type of design (every male I went to college with used that type of aesthetic), so this was quite a challenge for me.

I’m iffy on the piece, myself, but my “client” was pleased with the outcome. I guess that’s all that matters.
